Philippe Février

Philippe Février has been working for over fifteen years in all areas of competition economics consulting. Before founding Veltys and then OIKO, he was a partner at the economic consulting firm MAPP for several years. Philippe Février also advises numerous companies and their executive committees on data issues from strategic, economic, and operational perspectives. He is a member of the supervisory boards of Upply and Viooh, two joint ventures created in partnership with Geodis and JCDecaux. Philippe Février holds degrees from École Polytechnique and ENSAE (Corps de l’Insee) and obtained his PhD in industrial economics from EHESS (AFSE thesis prize). Currently, Philippe Février is a member of the research laboratory in industrial economics at INSEE (CREST-LEI) and a lecturer at École Polytechnique and ENSAE, where he teaches game theory and econometrics applied to industrial economics. He has also been a researcher in the economics department at the University of Chicago. His expertise and academic research, both theoretical and empirical, mainly focus on auctions, competition policy, and the estimation of micro-econometric models. He regularly publishes in leading international academic journals on these topics, including the Review of Economic Studies, Econometrica, the Journal of Public Economics, and the RAND Journal of Economics. He is also a member of the scientific committee of GENES (Group of National Schools of Economics and Statistics).

Romain de Nijs

Romain de Nijs has been working for ten years as a consultant for companies and their legal advisors in the fields of competition economics (concentrations, horizontal and vertical agreements, abuse of dominant position, sectoral inquiries) and the assessment of economic harm (anti-competitive practices, intellectual property rights violations, acts of unfair competition/parasitism). In the course of his missions, he has developed advanced skills in econometrics, surveys, and geographical analyses. Romain de Nijs is also an associate professor at École Polytechnique, where he teaches competition economics and industrial economics. He regularly publishes in international journals such as the RAND Journal of Economics, Marketing Science, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization. Previously, Romain was a Visiting Scholar at the Haas School of Business at Berkeley and an associate professor at the School of Economics in Paris. Romain de Nijs graduated from École Polytechnique and is an engineer in the Corps of Bridges, Waters, and Forests. He also holds a PhD in economics from École des Ponts. Romain de Nijs has been a judicial expert with the Paris Court of Appeal since January 2020 in the specialties “D-04.02 – Counterfeiting, unfair competition” and “D-04.04 – Market studies.”

Jeanne Avril

Jeanne Avril began her career as a consultant, working on both competition economics missions and strategic issues combining economics and data science (tender design, pricing, etc.). After six years in consulting, she joined the Ministry of Economy and Finance, where she worked on sectoral state aid measures implemented during the COVID-19 period. With these experiences, she joined Altermind Economics (formerly OIKO) in 2022. She is primarily responsible for the daily management of missions related to clients and their legal advisors, as well as the responsibility for economic and statistical analyses. Jeanne is a statistician economist graduated from the National School of Statistics and Economic Administration (ENSAE).
